Forma® Click composite cladding from Ecoscape in Charred Wood is the boldest finish in the collection, taking inspiration from the deep colour and distinctive character of traditionally charred timber.

Its near-black appearance creates strong architectural definition, while the textured timber-effect surface brings depth and variation that prevents larger areas from feeling flat or uniform.

This wood-plastic composite combines the mechanical properties of wood with the durability of plastic, creating a long-lasting, low-maintenance building material that is resistant to rot, cracking, splitting and warping.

Available across three board widths, Charred Wood can create anything from tightly spaced linear detailing to dramatic broad elevations or distinctive mixed-width façades.

Charred timber has a unique architectural character, but achieving and maintaining a consistent natural finish can require specialist material selection and ongoing consideration as the wood ages.

Forma Click Charred Wood provides the intended appearance from installation.

Its capped composite construction and UV-stable outer surface are designed to help resist colour fade and weathering, allowing the deep finish to remain a deliberate part of the architectural palette.

It combines the appearance of charred timber with the more predictable performance of Ecoscape composite cladding, with no ongoing painting, staining or oiling and resistance to rot, cracking, splitting and warping.

Design the rhythm

Charred Wood responds particularly strongly to changes in board width and orientation.

Small – Fine Linear: 45mm boards create closely spaced shadow lines and a striking slatted appearance.
Medium – Balanced Linear: 64mm boards provide a balanced combination of dark surface and linear definition.
Large – Broad Linear: 119mm boards produce broader areas of Charred Wood with fewer interruptions for a bold, contemporary finish.
Combi – Mixed Width: Grad’s Varibo rail combines different profiles to create a varied, highly distinctive façade rhythm.

Boards can be installed vertically, horizontally or diagonally, giving designers further opportunities to use direction and shadow as part of the architecture. A coordinated range of trims provides clean detailing around corners, openings, edges and transitions.

Designed for installers

Forma Click has been developed to integrate accurately with the Grad concealed fixing system, allowing the bold Charred Wood finish to remain free from visible face screws.

Dedicated Grad rails maintain consistent Small, Medium and Large patterns, while the Varibo rail allows different board profiles to be combined across an elevation.

The concealed fixing approach creates a precise finished façade where colour, texture and shadow remain the dominant visual elements.

Charred Wood is particularly suited to contemporary homes, modern extensions, garden buildings, hospitality projects and feature façades where a strong architectural statement is required.

Its deep finish works particularly well with pale stone, concrete and render, natural planting, glazing and black metalwork.
