Piil: A Tiny House Retreat with the Grad® System

Piil, derived from the Estonian word “piiluma” (meaning “to look”), is a beautifully designed tiny house that redefines nature getaways. Nestled among the trees, this 19m² retreat is carefully crafted to harmonise with its surroundings while offering a breathtaking view of the landscape.

Project Highlights

  • Smart, compact design – Despite its small footprint, Piil maximises every inch of space, offering both functionality and comfort.

  • Seamless indoor-outdoor connection – A large panoramic window floods the interior with natural light and enhances the feeling of being surrounded by nature.

Solutions Implemented

  • Thermopine Cladding: A natural, durable timber that provides a warm and rustic aesthetic, blending seamlessly with the woodland setting.

  • Thermoash Decking: Extends the living space outdoors, creating a durable, weather-resistant surface that allows guests to fully immerse themselves in nature.

  • Grad® Flat Rail System: Used for both cladding and decking, this innovative hidden-fix system enables fast, precise installation with no visible screws. It ensures a flawless finish while simplifying maintenance for long-term durability.
